Listen to The GTW's first release Calling Cards off Chigeria, which will be included on his upcoming record Chigeria - out later this year.

Chicago-based singer The GTW has released the first taste off his upcoming Chigeria, a track called Calling Cards, a really mellow and smooth dance track that could just as easily pass as something you might have heard from the early '90s. It's an innocent record, with GTW singing "I can't spell my future without you" as if he was back in grade school attempting to serenade his sweetheart.

He explained his work: The lyrics speak on a couple spending their last day together before they embark on a long distance relationship. I wrote the lyrics and layed the ‘So So Def’ bass-inspired beat. It’s an ode to one of my favorite Jahit Jamm (Strawberry Jamm Records) tracks, which my bud Mike Perry from Supreme Cuts introduced me to a while ago. I have an upcoming show at Glasslands in Brooklyn, NY with Tiombe Lockhart & Princess Nokia on March 5th and I have a show at empty bottle in Chicago APRIL 24th with Sweaterbeats and Different Sleep.

The GTW is set to perform at Grasslands on March 5 in New York for Tiombe Lockhart's single release party for "Can't Get Enough." Other performers for the night include Princess Nokia and Tomboy. Check out The GTW's newest track Calling Cards below.
