Lily Allen wrote an ode to England at FIFA World Cup Bass Like Home.
"Move your feet, touch that crown
Dig your heels into the ground
Wind your waist, drop down low
Can't replace, 'cause there's no bass like home," Lily sings.
Hard Out Here songstress Lily Allen shared on her Soundcloud account her ‘unofficial’ FIFA World Cup song Bass Like Home. The track, which is slightly different from Shakira or Pitbull, it contains less soccer-dedicated lyrics but it is supposed to be a theme song for England’s World Cup bid. She makes sure though to add some famous things about her country, such as Shakespeare, John Lennon, the Queen, melon, Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne ,beer and others.
And just like more official World Cup songs, Lily’s Bass Like Home features tribal, infectious beat, electronic vibes to bring the timeline up to 2014 and plenty of conga drums.
Though she announced her fans on the Twitter account about the new song uploaded on Soundcloud, the track has since been removed from the website. You can still take a listen to it in here.
"Move your feet, touch that crown
Dig your heels into the ground
Wind your waist, drop down low
Can't replace, 'cause there's no bass like home
Bass like home, bass like home
Bass like home, there's no bass like home
Bass like home, bass like home
Bass like home," she sings.
The British singer will perform live at Glastonbury festival later this month and has stated that she is already working on her next album. Allen says she is "halfway through" a fourth LP but admitted she was unsure she would release any new music after that.
