Charley Crockett signs to Island Records and announces new album Lonesome Drifter, out March 14. Co-produced with Shooter Jennings, it’s a raw, heartfelt country masterpiece.

Texas-born country star and Grammy nominee Charley Crockett is kicking off 2025 in style. Fresh off the release of two albums last year—$10 Cowboy and Visions of Dallas—Crockett has signed with Island Records and announced his latest project, Lonesome Drifter, set to drop on March 14. The title track will be released this Friday, January 31, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

Co-produced with Shooter Jennings, Lonesome Drifter was recorded in just 10 days at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles. Crockett described the process as effortless and liberating: “Shooter and I barely talked about it. I just brought all of my guys out, and the album made itself. It was live without a lot of overdubs. There were no inhibitions. I wasn’t being judged, and I didn’t feel self-conscious. Shooter knew how to cut loose and let this thing unfold.”

The album features a mix of new original tracks and fresh takes on Crockett classics, including a reimagined version of Jamestown Ferry, originally from his 2017 album Lil G.L.'s Honky Tonk Jubilee. Known for his prolific output, Crockett released two albums and the standout single Hey Mr. Nashville in 2024, and 2025 is already shaping up to be another monumental year for the artist.

Crockett’s $10 Cowboy is also nominated for Best Americana Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards, solidifying his place as one of country music’s most exciting voices.
